Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) previously known as Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) is an Australian government low interest rate loan offered to Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand Special Category Visa holder who meets the long-term residency requirements who enrol in a Commonwealth supported to study in Universities and TAFE level and are repayable through taxation system.

  1. Make additional repayments.
  2. Start early with a part-time job while studying.
  3. Stick to a budget.

Your tax agent has access to your HECS-HELP debt, and you can also check the balance online through myGov account.
